HPV Vaccination

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the world’s most common sexually transmitted infection and is a leading cause of genital lesions and cancers.

It is most often spread through sexual contact and direct skin-to-skin contact during sexual intercourse.

A good way to prevent health problems associated with HPV infection is to get vaccinated. HPV vaccine significantly reduces a woman’s risk of developing cervical cancer and genital warts.

Based on Ministry of Health’s Guidelines, all females aged 9 – 26 years are strongly encouraged to get the HPV vaccination to prevent Cervical Cancer. It is strongly encouraged to go for regular cervical cancer screening even if you have received the HPV vaccination as HPV vaccination only protects against 70 to 90 percent of high-risk HPV strains.

AcuMed provides two types of HPV vaccines, Cervarix and Gardasil 9.
