Occupational Disease is any disease arising primarily due to exposure to risk factors arising from work activities.
Occupational Diseases, when diagnosed, will need to be reported to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
These include, but are not limited to:
- Anthrax exposure
- Cyanide poisoning
- Diseases caused by ionising radiation
- Diseases caused by excessive heat
- Hydrogen Sulphide poisoning
- Occupational asthma
- Occupational skin cancers and related diseases
- Poisoning by hazardous gases (e.g. carbon monoxide gas, oxides of nitrogen)
- Poisoning from halogen derivatives of hydrocarbon compounds
- Silicosis
- Toxic hepatitis
- Tuberculosis
